This film isn't a horror in the true sense of the word nor is it an outright comedy, it's more of a tongue in cheek humorous look at a bizzare situation. Realism goes out the window -along with most other sensible things, as the local sheriff and ex boyfriend try to defeat the menace. This has dreadful effects on the local spider farm -as it would, causing the itsy bitsy spiders to grow ever so large and eventually break free to unleash a reign of terror on the nearby population. The plot is not original -it's not intended to be, a container of waste falls into a local pond and pollutes the water supply. This is not a film to be taken seriously it's a sort of homage to all those 1950-1960's low budget B movie films that supported the main feature in the glory days of cinema. This 2002 comedy horror hasn't really dated at all and is just as enjoyable now as when it was first released.
